Observation

Early learning provider must take steps to prevent and, once aware of, not tolerate restriction of child's movements such as pinning child to the ground, or forcing them to remain on the floor. Threats of physical harm such a squeezing or pinching child. If child continues to behave in an unsafe manner only licensee, center director, asistant director, program supervisor, lead teacher, or assistant teacher may physically remove child to a less stimulating environment. Physical removal is determind by the child's ability to walk. If child in not willing or able to walk, staff may pick up child. Separation should be minimized and appropriate to the needs of the individual child.
